Our People

At POG, we know the Church is more than just four walls. It's God's people living out their lives in surrender to His will. If you're looking for details about our staff and key points of contact, you're in the right place!

PASTOR - Mickey Best

Alright, here's the formal stuff first...I graduated Wheaton College with a B.A. in Biblical Studies and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary with a M .Div. in Pastoral Ministry. Before we felt led to Madison to start Point of Grace, I was the youth pastor of First Assembly of God in Waupaca, Wisconsin for five years and we enjoyed a very warm and fruitful ministry there. The Wisconsin and Northern Michigan District of the Assemblies of God has provided great training, support, and accountability for POG.

If you are considering being a part of Point of Grace, the most important thing you should know about me concerns my relationship with Christ. Although I was privileged to grow up in a Christian home, I strayed from God during my high school days. He graciously disciplined me and brought me back to himself. In the process, I developed a pretty legalistic and rigid view of God. It was the fall of 1987 when I first came to understand his amazing goodness and grace. I'll spare you the details here but I'd love to talk about it if you ask! Let me just say that I came to realize what a huge difference there is between being religious and having a genuine, intimate, faith-filled relationship with God. Such a friendship with him is possible and absolutely life changing.

Besides a growing love for Jesus and a passion for his Church, I love my wife, Diane, and our three adult children: Brandon, Colton & Kailey. I also enjoy sports, history and eating. So if you ever want to talk about the Packers, kids, or the Civil War over lunch, I'm game.

Thanks for reading.

Anthony

Prayer

Ok a little about me. My name is Anthony O’Connell. I am married to Krissi, and we have a daughter Emeila. I have been with Point of Grace oh for 20 years or so, first vested Point Grace when they had services at Marcus Theaters. After my first or second visit they moved to where we hold services now. In 1991-92 I attended Word of Life Bible Institute (where you can go for a one year or 2 year course; the first year is only studying the Bible). This was one of the best years of my life, studying under great professors and even a few great Christian authors.

After a few years at Point of Grace I took over the prayer team to help myself, and to help Point of Grace become a praying church. It has been great to see how Point of Grace, by God’s grace, has grown as a church in the area of prayer. The 12 disciples knew how important it was to pray to our Heavenly Father, to the point that they asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. I think they wanted to learn how to pray because they saw Jesus setting the example by taking the time to pray. As a church we want to become more like Jesus. If you are new to Point of Grace or just visiting I encourage you to come to one of our prayer nights. If you ever want or need to pray with someone please contact me. I would love to pray with you, or come to where ever you are.

Ben Fleming

Website

I came to know Christ at an early age, but walked away from God during my adolescence and early adulthood. God graciously worked in my life in various ways to draw me back to Him. Point of Grace was one of those ways, and I'm so grateful to be a part of this local community of believers.

I married my wife Hillary in 2015, and we welcomed our daughter Merceda in 2020. Hillary and Merceda also have a couple dogs.

I currently work as a software developer. As such, being involved in the website seemed like a natural fit. If you have ideas on how to improve the website or want to get involved, please feel free to contact me!
